Description

NGC7380, the Wizard Nebula, is a large star-forming nebula illuminated by an open star cluster discovered by Caroline Herschel in 1787. The star-forming region spans over 100 light years and will eventually fade away over a few million years. The nebula lies 7,200 light years away in the constellation Cepheus and gets its name from its resemblance to a sorcerer’s hat.
